Need Information On Medicare Insurance?
There are three types of private insurance relevant to people with Medicare:
1. Medigap supplemental insurance
2. Prescription drug insurance
3. Medicare Advantage insurance
Medigap Insurance
If you have regular Medicare (Part A and Part B), then you may need supplemental insurance to cover your deductibles and co-pays. This is known as Medigap insurance.
Prescription Drug Insurance
If you have regular Medicare (Part A and Part B) you may also want coverage for your prescription drugs (Part D). If so you need a separate insurance plan for this.
Medicare Advantage
You have two options under Medicare: Regular Medicare (Part A, Part B, Part D), or Medicare Advantage (also known as Part C). It combines Parts A, B, and D into a single managed care policy.
