Pharmacy Costs

Stand-alone Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) and Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage (MA-PDs) contract with certain retail pharmacies and mail-order programs. You can visit any of the pharmacies within your plan’s network, but if you use a retail pharmacy outside the network, you may pay more for your prescriptions. Your copayment or coinsurance may be lower if you use a preferred network pharmacy or through your plan’s mail order program. Mail order programs may offer a cost-effective way to get a 2-3 month supply of your medications delivered directly to your home.
